Modern Hydrogen has an immediate opening for a Pipe Designer who is passionate about making concepts a reality while iterating on existing solutions. You will do this by leading the pipe design and layout for a containerized methane pyrolysis system. Your goal is to optimize and iterate quickly with the mechanical design, process engineering, and manufacturing teams to develop the best solution to support product requirements.
This is an onsite role. The Pipe Designer will be required to work on-site in our facility in Woodinville, WA 3+ days per week and attend quarterly company events in the Seattle area. These events are geared towards fostering connections between colleagues, building a strong team, and having fun together.
To facilitate efficient & effective onboarding, you will be expected to be on-site >4 days per week for the first 90 days to build trust, learn our processes, and integrate into our company culture.

Responsibilities:
Collaborate with engineers to design and create detailed 3D models of piping systems, including pipe supports, using industry-standard software.
Able to incorporate factors such as space constraints, safety standards, and operability into the layout.
Knowledge of 3D design software suites (Plant3D, CADWorx, and/or AutoPLANT).
Generate detailed technical drawings, such as pipe isometric drawings, for accurate fabrication.
Drafting General Arrangement drawing for each piece of equipment
Creating Isometric Pipe Drawings
Plot Plan - Plant layout drawings
CAD Support - Translate piping specification to 3D models (library of fittings, valves, pipe)
Familiarity with industry codes, standards, general practices to ensure design meets regulatory and safe operating requirements (ASME, ANSI, API)
Minimal travel to customer and/or vendor sites will be required (<5%)
Other duties as assigned
Skills and Experience:
3+ years of piping design experience in an industrial and/or commercial environment
Hands-on experience using CAD tools (CADWorx preferred) in the creation of piping layouts and pipe isometric drawings
Familiarity with industry codes and regulations
Preferred: Experience with packaging piping assemblies in containerized or modular systems.

Salary range is $73,000 - $110,000/year.
